Where did the summer go?

Well, it's been over a year since I blogged. Sad, I know.. I couldn't even remember my password...Well, my daughter is in her last year of preschool and she has had a rough go of it..We have gotten some phone calls from the school. Not a good way to start the school year. Mind you, she has been in this school since she was 3 months old. We just have to pray about it and hope it is just a phase.
This summer we enjoyed a Coats family reunion with Chris's family at Tres Rios, a family vacation at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, a weekend away for our anniversary in San Antonio, a trip to Schlitterbahn in Galveston, a trip to the Blue Bell Creamery and Aquatic Center in Brenham, and then our occasional weekend trips to Houston.
I can't believe the year is almost over! I wonder what 2011 has in store for us....Hopefully, a sibling for Abby...I'll keep you posted!

Well, Abby and I just returned from a short, but much needed vacation to Schlitterbahn with a dear friend and her 3 kids. My niece Amelia joined us after some convincing to her mom that she will be OK!!! I did realize on our road trip back from Houston to pick up Amelia, why God did not bless me with twins as I had once wished for. 2 girls, 15 months apart....It was hilarious, but frustrating at times to convince them that sharing doesn't mean one was taking the other one's toys home. I'm ready for another baby, but in the mean time, I have my sweet niece to make my daughter feel the love of a sibling!

Summer is Here

Well, summer has definitely swept in through Texas. Abby and I are enjoying the pool every weekend and Chris is able to get yard work done. Chris and I are about to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been 5 years! We are celebrating our anniversary this weekend so Abby is going to stay with her Aunt Mandi and Uncle Dustin and cousin Amelia for a weekend of fun so Mommy and Daddy can have some alone time...I'm not sure I know what that is like. We are in the throes of potty training now so I hope when she comes back from Houston, she will be one with the potty..We'll see....

First time

So....I'm new to this "blogging" thing. It's kind of like having your diary posted for everyone to see! (Some things will still remain a secret!) Chris and I have been married for almost 5 years and are having our lives fulfilled by the most wonderful blessing in the world....Abby Ruth. She just turned 3, but I think I should have placed a 1 in front of the 3 on her birthday cake! She is the smartest little whipplesnapper you will ever meet and she makes us smile everyday!
I am working as a nurse manager at a local hospital 4 days a week and it has been a true test of my patience...I have made some great friends and we enjoy our one night a week at a local restaurant...
Chris is working at the same hospital in the materials management department so he is never away from his "boss!" (JK) He is still playing in his band as the drummer about once a month and its his one night of releasing tension!
Our dog, Remo, is the laziest basset hound known to man, but serves as Abby's best friend until we supply her with a sibling..Thank goodness for cousins, whom are all girls, and are all quite the divas!
I am so very blessed!
